Unraveling the Coding and Documentation Quagmire
September 15, 22 and 29, 2020

Event Description:

Join us for a live virtual three-day interactive workshop that will provide you with actionable information regarding correct and compliant code assignment for Diagnostic/Interventional Radiology (IR), Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM), Electrophysiology (EP), and Nuclear Medicine.  Attend to learn about “hot-button” coding issues, practice on case studies, and find out tips for documentation.

Panacea’s expert team—Donna Richmond, Cathy Huyghe, and Jeff Majchrzak—will pull from their extensive experience in the healthcare industry to offer insights applicable for attendees focused on technical (ie., UB04 form) or professional (ie., 1500 form) coding and billing.

Attendees will:

  • Learn the nuances of correct and compliant code assignment
  • Perform “hands-on” coding on relevant case studies
  • Participate in working sessions with top experts in the field
  • Share best practices with colleagues
  • Earn up to 10.0 CEUs through AAPC, RCCB, and AHRA
  • Connect with the Panacea team for real time Q&A

Who Should Attend:

This session will benefit all who are involved in the immensely important task of coding and billing Diagnostic Radiology, Interventional Radiology, CRM, EP and Nuclear Medicine procedures, including: technologists, HIM staff, compliance, billing, revenue cycle, chargemaster team, as well as physicians generating the actual dictated reports to validate charges submitted.

Workshop Agenda

Course Description

This three-day, 10-hour, virtual education seminar will touch on topics and issues pertinent to the world of diagnostic and interventional radiology as well as nuclear medicine and cardiac rhythm management services. Sessions will be conducted on three consecutive Tuesdays: September 15, 22, and 29, 2020.

Each day will be comprised of lecture, dictated case report examples and interactive opportunities for attendees to try their hand at application of the rules and concepts learned during the lecture phase of the sessions by coding sample reports examples.  These examples will be reviewed by attendees in small Zoom-groups. Then, the presenters will walk through the correct coding of the cases and explain the “why or why-not” of assigned codes.  In addition, the lectures will include the importance of keeping your chargemaster up to date including tips throughout the sessions on how radiology, cardiology and your chargemaster department can work together to enhance revenue integrity.
